Hardware
The photographs have all been taken using Canon 'point-and-shoot' cameras, including an A460, SX130 and S100. They have all been equipped with CHDK software, to allow control from a Windows PC.
I have used lots of cool white LED strips to provide even illumination.
I have built a powered, computer controlled turntable, housed within a simple fabric light box.

Still images (6 or 12 mega-pixels) are stored in the PC.
The Avisynth frame server is used to control the selection of images and parts of images, presenting them in order at defined locations on the screen.
These Avisynth scripts are long, repetitive and complex. So these scripts are not-hand-crafted, but are generated by a series of Ruby programs.

Anna Whitehouse's 2018 project : 100 bottles, 100 days
When I read about this ceramics project in the newsletter of the Northern Potters Association, I sent Anna the link to Ceranimation. She was happy for me to use this collection of bottles as a basis for another film, which you can see on the home page.
This was all done against a tight schedule running up to Christmas 2018, with the bottles due to go to an exhibition at Leeds Design and Craft Gallery at the start of 2019.
While I was rebuilding the turntable and finding music, I was able to test some ideas using still photographs taken by David Lindsay. These are high resolution, and each bottle has been taken once with strong lighting to one side, and once with more even lighting. Below are two shorter animations, where each bottle is shown for just 1 second, blending, zooming and panning over these stills.
